Welcome to my tiny bora corner
About two years ago, I started a blog on tumblr to share my poetry under the name boratry — a name that took inspiration from BTS and army’s connection with the color purple and combined it with poetry. Bora + poetry. I had high hopes of being brave and continuously sharing my writing, with the world through a collection I named ‘I’m always remembering my you’ (I’m ARMY). There’s so much about BTS as a whole and each individual member to be inspired by. They really are the greatest muses, but I was not good at sticking to posting. Poetry is so personal and sharing it takes a lot of courage and I have continuously learned that I am not very brave.
And yet here I am, again, trying.
I likely cannot make any promises about how often, but I will post every now and again — share the images I created for the tumblr before and, hopefully, begin posting there again too. So, I will repeat what I said two years ago…
As I post the poems, some of them will have specific members as their inspiration but I deliberately did not name them outright. Instead, I decided to try something new, in my own journey with poetry, and use capitalization in the titles to give hints as to their inspiration. though there will likely be other obvious hints.
And, while I was inspired by BTS, I, like many humans, am unfortunately pretty self-absorbed. Some of the poetry may be fully about a member, but often times my poetry really i just about my own struggles.
Once again, I’ll quote oscar Wilde who said, “All bad poetry springs from genuine feeling.” I’m well aware I am not a particularly good poet. I still have so much to learn about not only poetry but about the world, humanity and myself. but these poems reflect who I am now, or who I was not so long ago, all messiness included, and I’m choosing to believe there is also beauty in that. And that maybe that is worth sharing.
So, here we go again.
