Does naming a World make it so?

A poem by Boaratry titled "Does naming a World make it so." It reads as follows:

I am
An ugly green monster
Desperate for the things you are capable of
Beyond the reach
Of my ever-desperate grasp —
For that power inside you
Unmatched in every way.

You are
A Midas in your own right.
Imprinting happiness
With dance, a smile,
Choosing the sun for yourself
Despite the new moon always
Reminding you it’s there, waiting.

And I wonder,
If a name can make a person,
Can change them into something
More,
Can forge a world of Hope
And light it aflame,
(Even if the darkness is still around)
Is that all I ever had to do?

Stake a claim and make it so.
Name myself as happy and
Repeat
Repeat
Repeat
Until even I, too,
Could believe it true.
